Drains that keep blocking, smell or run slow? Our engineers use high pressure water jetting to unblock and clean drains back to full flow, with professional drainage services for homes and businesses across Bristol and the South West. No call out charges, 24/7.

What Is
Drain Jetting?
Drain jetting is a method of drain cleaning that uses water at high pressure. Instead of pushing through a blockage the way rods do, a jetting hose cleans the full circumference of the drain wall, washing out the build up that causes problems in the first place.
Our engineers feed a flexible hose into the drainage system, usually through an inspection chamber or rodding eye outside. The nozzle on the end has forward-facing jets that cut through the obstruction, and rear-facing jets that drive the hose along the run and scour the walls as it goes. Our jetting services use different nozzles for different jobs, from breaking up fat to flushing out silt.
It uses nothing but water, so it is chemical-free and safe for your drainage and local waterways. It reaches bends and underground pipes that rods struggle with, and it does the job without digging anything up.

Do You Need Drain Jetting
or Rodding?
Not every blocked drain needs jetting. Here is how to tell what your drainage problem actually needs.
Signs your drains need attention include slow drainage from sinks, baths and toilets, bad smells, gurgling, gullies overflowing in heavy rain, or the same drain blocking again weeks after it was cleared.
When Rodding Is Enough
A single blockage from a build up of paper or a foreign object can often be cleared with rods. It is quick, and if that is all it takes to unblock your drain, that is what we will do.
When You Need High Pressure Jetting
Jetting is the right tool when rods will not shift it or the drain keeps blocking. Fat, oil, scale, silt and root growth stick to the drain wall, and rods only punch a hole through them. Our drain jetting services for blocked drains clean the whole run, so it stays clear for longer.
When Jetting Is Not the Answer
If a drain is cracked, collapsed or made of older pitch fibre, high pressure water can make the damage worse. In those cases, the right first step is one of our CCTV drain surveys to check its condition, followed by a conversation about repairs before any jetting starts.
Jetting Before a CCTV Survey or Resin Lining
Jetting is also the prep work for other drainage services. A clean drain means a CCTV survey shows its true condition, and resin lining needs a clean surface to bond to.
Drain Jetting
for Bristol Homes
Most homes never need routine jetting. When they do, it is usually because a drain keeps blocking, a kitchen or bathroom waste run has furred up with fat and soap, or outside drains and gullies have filled with silt and leaves. Slow sinks and a bath that will not empty are the usual sign of a furred up waste run.
We provide residential drain jetting across Bristol and the South West as part of our wider domestic drainage services. Older Bristol properties with clay drainage are where we see it most, as roots and silt find their way in through the joints.
Homeowners get a straight explanation of what was in the drain and how to stop it coming back. Landlords and letting agents get a team who arrange access with tenants and report back once the job is done. Tenants get the problem sorted without being left waiting, and we will speak to your landlord if you need us to.
There are no call out charges, and our customers get a fixed price quote before we start.

Commercial Drain Jetting
in Bristol
Commercial drainage carries far more waste than a family home, and when it blocks, the business stops. A blocked kitchen drain closes a restaurant, a backed-up washroom takes out a floor, and a flooded yard holds up deliveries.
We provide drain jetting for commercial properties across Bristol as part of our commercial drainage services, working around your trading hours with minimal disruption.
Restaurants, pubs and cafés get kitchen drains cleared of the fat and oil that builds up in every waste run, and jetting works alongside our grease trap services to keep it under control. Offices, retail units and industrial sites get one number to call for yards, car park gullies and washrooms. Student accommodation and HMOs get high-use drains kept clear before term-time problems start.
For sites that block regularly, preventative maintenance jetting on a set schedule usually costs less than repeated emergency call outs. It catches problems before they turn into an emergency, and the work is booked when it suits you rather than when the drain fails.

What Drain Jetting Clears,
and How to Keep It Clear
Most blocked drains are caused by build up on the inside of the drainage system, not a single object. That is exactly what jetting is designed to remove. We always explain what we found before we leave.
Fat, Oil and Grease
Goes down as a liquid, then cools and hardens on the drain wall. It is the most common cause of blocked kitchen drains, at home and in restaurants.
Scale
Mineral deposits build up over years and narrow the drain, slowing everything that passes through the system.
Silt and Debris
Washes into gullies and outside drains, settles in the run, and shows itself when heavy rain cannot get away.
Wipes and Sanitary Build Up
Wipes and sanitary products snag on joints and gather everything behind them. Jetting breaks up the mass and flushes it out.
Food Waste
Rice, pasta and coffee grounds swell and bind with fat, building into a solid mass in kitchen waste runs.
Root Growth
Fine roots find their way in through cracked joints in older clay pipes. Jetting clears light root growth. Established roots, or the cracks that let them in, need a closer look with a CCTV survey.
How to Keep Your Drains Clear After Jetting
Wipe pans before washing up, use a sink strainer, and bin fat, wipes and sanitary products. In restaurant kitchens, keep traps maintained and book jetting on a schedule rather than waiting for the drain to fail.

Process
Here is exactly what happens from the moment you contact us, whether it is one blocked drain at your house or a planned job across a business site.
Who Pays for
Drain Jetting?
It depends on where the drain is, not where you notice the problem. Here is who is responsible in most cases.
Homeowners
Drains that serve only your property, inside your boundary, are your responsibility. Some home insurance policies cover blocked drains and drainage repairs, so check yours before you book.
Tenants and Landlords
Check your tenancy agreement first. Problems caused by wear or a fault in the drainage usually fall to the landlord, while those caused by misuse may fall to the tenant. We will speak to your landlord or letting agent about the work if you need us to.
Blocked Street Drains
A blocked gully or drain in the road is Bristol City Council’s responsibility, so report it on the council’s website.

Drain Jetting
FAQs
It depends on the length of the drain run, what is causing the problem, and how easy the access is. Clearing a short domestic run is a very different job to jetting a restaurant kitchen drain or an industrial site. If one of our CCTV drain surveys is needed as well, that adds to the cost.
There are no call out charges. Evening and late night call outs cost more than daytime work, and you always get a fixed price quote before any work starts. For preventative maintenance, we can quote for a set schedule.
Send a photo on WhatsApp or tell us where the drain is when you call. It is the quickest way to an accurate price.
Not when it is done by professional engineers. The pressure and nozzle are matched to the drain and the blockage, and in a sound drain, jetting cleans without causing damage.
The risk comes from drains that are already damaged. Cracked or collapsed sections, displaced joints and pitch fibre pipes, common in homes built between the 1950s and 1970s, can be made worse by high pressure. If your drain keeps blocking or the property is that age, a CCTV survey first shows whether it can take it.
Most homes do not need routine jetting. If your drains are clear, leave them. If the same drain blocks more than once a year, jetting every year or two, alongside a look at the cause, usually keeps it under control.
Restaurant kitchens are different. Many of our customers with heavy fat use need kitchen drains jetted every few months, and high-use sites like student accommodation benefit from routine maintenance before each busy period. Across the range of sites we look after, we set a schedule that matches how hard the drainage system works.
For some jobs. Rods are quick and effective on a single blockage. Jetting does more on build up, because it cleans the full drain wall rather than pushing a hole through the middle.
We use whichever fits. If rods will unblock it, we will not jet it for the sake of it. If the drain keeps blocking after rodding, that is usually the sign it needs jetting.
No. Jetting clears and cleans drains, but it cannot repair a crack, a collapsed section or a displaced joint. If a drain is damaged, debris will keep catching at the same point and the problem will come back.
A CCTV survey shows exactly where the damage is. Many repairs can then be done with resin lining from inside the drain, without digging. Where the damage is too severe, excavation may be needed, and we will talk you through the options.
It depends on the length of the run and how much build up there is. A single domestic drain is usually a much shorter job than a restaurant kitchen or a long industrial run.
We give you a realistic idea of how long it will take to resolve when we quote, and for business sites we plan the work around your hours.
Yes. Most jetting is done from outside, through the inspection chamber or a rodding eye, because that gives access to the main run without coming into the property. Internal waste runs from sinks and baths can be cleared too, along with a blocked toilet, with the method chosen to suit the pipework.
If water is backing up inside, tell us which fixtures are affected when you call. It tells us whether the problem is inside or in the main drain.
Yes. We work around your opening hours wherever the situation allows, including early mornings, late evenings and after service, so the kitchen does not have to close for the job.
As drainage specialists for local businesses, we book preventative maintenance visits in advance at times that suit you.
Yes. Our emergency drain services run 24/7, and we attend drainage emergencies at any hour, with an average response of around two hours. Evening and late night call outs cost more than daytime work, and we confirm the price before we start.
If water is backing up or overflowing, stop using water in the property while you wait, and see our emergency drain unblocking page for what to do in the meantime.
